This website is operated and provided by Advent Bioservices Limited (Company Number 08717711) (“Advent Bioservices”, “Advent Bio”, “we“, “us“, “our“) having its registered office at Sawston Business Park, Sawston, Cambridge, United Kingdom, CB22 3JG. We are a data controller for the purpose of Data Protection Legislation (as defined below).

At Advent Bioservices, we are committed to safeguarding and preserving the privacy of the personal information provided to and/or collected by us.

This Privacy Policy explains what happens to any personal data that you provide to us, or that we collect from you. It also sets out your rights and who you can contact for more information. Please read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data and how we will treat it. In this Privacy Policy, references to “you” and “your” are references to the individual the personal data relates to.

We update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes we make to our Privacy Policy in the future will be posted on this page and, where appropriate, notified to you on the website or by e-mail. It was last updated on December 20th, 2022.

In this Privacy Policy the term “Data Protection Legislation” means the EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679; together with all other applicable legislation relating to privacy or data protection.

Information We Collect

In running and maintaining our website or engaging with you for the provision or receipt of services or for any other purpose as outlined below, we may collect and process the following information about you in physical and electronic form.

This information will include your personal data, which means information that can be used to identify you, and we will hold, use and otherwise process such personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Legislation and as set out in this Privacy Policy:

 

i.  Information about your use of our sites, including details of your visits such as pages viewed and the resources that you access. Such information includes traffic data, location data and other communication data. Like most websites, we use “cookies” to help us make our site – and the way you use it – better. There are more details in our section on Cookies below. In addition, with regard to each of your visits to our site we will automatically collect certain information, e.g. your IP address used to connect your computer to the Internet, your browser type and language.

ii.  Information provided voluntarily by you, for example, when you register for information.

iii.  Information that you provide when you communicate with us by any means, including information about you that you give us by filling in forms on our site (e.g. the contact us section), our social media pages or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise.

iv.  Information you provide in a CV or other application form when applying for a job vacancy with us (whether you choose to submit a job application or CV to us online or in any other way), which may include but not be limited to your contact information, (such as your home address and contact details including your mobile telephone number), your date of birth, your academic background, (educational and professional qualifications), your right to work, visa status, employment history and status, and any other information about you that you disclose to us during the application process.

v.  Information provided to us by recruitment agencies with whom you have registered an interest in working for us.

vi.  Any data received including demographics and disease type and status relating to patient care including from the treating clinician, the leukapheresis collection centre or drug sponsor
 

If you give us information about other individuals (for example, referees) or you are providing information about applicants to us in your capacity as a recruitment agency, you must first make sure that the individual knows that you might disclose information about them (either specifically to us or, at least, to potential employers) and you have obtained all relevant consents from that individual to do so on their behalf.

 

If you are a recruitment agency you should, in particular, make sure that all of the information in this Privacy Policy is communicated to the applicant.

The personal data that we collect about you, particularly where applicable to the recruitment process, may include special categories of personal data, such as information about your racial or ethnic origin, criminal or alleged criminal offences, sexual orientation or your health and lifestyle, including where necessary to accommodate any disability needs. If you fail to provide us with this information, or you object to us processing such information (see below for more information about your rights in relation to your information), we may be prevented from progressing your application.

Use of Cookies

Cookies provide information regarding the computer used by a visitor. We may use cookies where appropriate to gather information about your computer to assist us in improving our website.

Advent Bioservices uses Google Analytics to analyse the use of this website. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about website use by means of cookies, which are stored on users’ computers. The information generated relating to our website is used to create reports about the use of the website. Google will store and use this information. Google’s privacy policy is available

 

at https://policies.google.com/privacy. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.

Please note that third parties (including, for example, advertising networks and providers of external services like web traffic analysis services, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Google Maps and YouTube videos) may also use cookies, over which we have no control. These cookies are likely to be analytical/performance cookies or targeting cookies.

Use of Your Information

We use the information that we collect from you to provide you with a safe, smooth, efficient and customised experience, and to provide our services to you. In addition, we may use the information for one or more of the following purposes:

i.  To provide information to you that you request from us relating to our products or services.

ii.  To provide information to you relating to other similar products or services that may be of interest to you (unless you indicate at any time that you do not wish us to do so).

iii.  To inform you of any changes to our website, services or products.

iv.  To administer our site and for internal operations, including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes.

v.  To consider your application where you have applied for a job vacancy with us, including to identify you, contact you and determine whether you have the professional skills, expertise and experience for the position applied for.

vi.  To provide you with healthcare or in response to for any investigations into deviations, complaints, or claims relating to the healthcare provided to you.

The personal data you provide as part of the recruitment process will be held and processed for the purpose of the selection process, including to verify the personal data provided and for other background screening purposes including, where permitted by law, criminal record checks, searches with a credit reference agency and sanctions screening checks. It may also be used in connection with any subsequent employment or placement, where it may form the basis of your personnel record with us. You will receive further information about such processing for the purposes of administering your employment as applicable.

Legal Grounds for Using Your Personal Information

Data Protection Legislation permits us to process your personal data because the processing is:

i.  necessary for the performance of our contract with you, including to provide you with products you have requested;

ii.  necessary to comply with a legal obligation to which we are subject; or

iii.  necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests that we pursue, which are: to run and administer our business; to discharge our legal obligations; to store and disclose information where necessary; to evaluate, develop and improve our services.

 

We will ensure we consider and balance any potential impact on you (both positive and negative) and your rights before we process your personal data for our legitimate interests. We do not use your personal data for activities where our interests are overridden by the impact on you, unless we have your consent or are otherwise required or permitted to by law.

To the extent that we process any special categories of data relating to you for any of the purposes outlined above, we will generally rely on your specific consent to process such data. However, it may be necessary for us to use certain personal data (such as that relating to alleged offences) to comply with our legal obligations.

Storing and Protecting Your Personal Data

We do not store any personal data unless we have your prior permission, and all data is stored securely. We will only keep the information we collect about you, through your use of the Site or otherwise, for as long as required for the purposes set out above or as required to comply with any legal obligations to which we are subject. This will involve us regularly reviewing our files to check that information is accurate, up-to-date and still required. Unsuccessful applicant data will generally be held within the recruitment system for a period of one year before being deleted.

We will also ensure that there are appropriate technical, physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards in place to protect your information from unauthorised access. Unfortunately, the sending of information via the internet (including by email) is not totally secure, and on occasion such information can be intercepted. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of data that you choose to send us electronically, and sending such information is entirely at your own risk.

 

Disclosing Your Information​

We may share your personal information with third party companies, service providers (including payment processors) and any other related companies, agents or contractors we have instructed to provide services for us if this is necessary to provide you with our products and services, respond to your inquiries or for any other related purposes. Third parties shall process the information for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy and in accordance with Data Protection Legislation.

Advent Bioservices uses a third party supplier to hold the information you submit as part of our recruitment process. In the event of your application resulting in an offer and your acceptance of a position at Advent Bioservices, your personal information will continue to be held by that third party supplier and will form part of Advent Bioservices’ employee database.

We will not disclose your personal information to any other party, other than in accordance with this Privacy Policy and in the circumstances detailed below:

i.  In the event that we sell any or all of our business.

ii.  Where we are legally required by law to disclose your personal information.

iii.  To further fraud protection and reduce the risk of fraud.


Transferring Data Outside of the EEA

Any data that you supply to us is sent to and stored in secure servers owned by or operated for us. Your personal data may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”) to a country not deemed to provide adequate protection of your information by the European Commission, and may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us, or for one of our service providers, related companies, agents or contractors.

Where recipients are outside the EEA, we will ensure that the recipient provides an adequate level of protection for your personal data so that the transfer is permitted under Data Protection Legislation, including by implementing appropriate safeguards.

Your Rights in Relation to Your Information

In accordance with Data Protection Legislation, at any time you have the right:

i. To request access to or a copy of any personal data which we hold about you.

ii. To ask us to rectify your personal data, if you consider that it is inaccurate, or delete it, if you consider that we do not have the right to hold it.

iii. To withdraw consent to our processing of your personal data (to the extent such processing is based on previously obtained consent).

iv.  To data portability (moving some of your personal data elsewhere) in certain circumstances.

v.  To restrict processing of your personal data or object to your personal data being processed in certain circumstances.

vi.  Not to be subject to a decision based on automated processing and to have safeguards put in place if you are being profiled based on your personal data.

 

Any request for access to or a copy of your personal data must be in writing and we will endeavour to respond within a reasonable period and in any event within one month in compliance with Data Protection Legislation. We will comply with our legal obligations as regards your rights as a data subject.
